about
The tone poem LOCRIA looks at a troubled, anxious, and often threatening world (represented by an underlying Locrian modality) and an individual’s relationship with and reactions to that environment.
The state of the world is pervasive, so the individual adjusts their perspective from changing the world to changing themselves, first by finding a somewhat sad peace in acceptance of the way things are, then to finding the confidence and determination to overcome any adversity. This evolves into a period of introspection and doubt. The next approach is to naively ignore the troubles and just stubbornly play through life. This leads back to self-reflection and longing for a better way. The underlying unresolved nature of the world remains.
